soliloquy

I left my singing shoes right below her doorstep, one day out of many along the winding routes, the wayward bush. They waited valiantly in vain, yearning for the fateful day she would save them, from fruiting flowers, from raging roots, the languid leaves; in the bush they would always pray. Yearning for years, looking for her loving leer - that almost came, but missed the same. They, of plastic and rubber, stayed outside her door solid and sober, hearing joyful smiles and happy tears, watching her confront her fears; as gracefully she aged through majestic years. Her brace of boys became married men, but stayed faithfully close; but so did my silent shoes. They eavesdropped enviously, wishing wistfully to be worn on her weary feet, but the shoes were weary without wear. The silent shoes - rotting in situ, patient and mournful - prayed profusely that the wayward bush grew another way; but she never looked their way - keeping a backyard already meant gardening the whole day - and the singing shoes had no song nor say.

Class Day

Hi there

After some deliberation, I am sorry to inform you that the list tht I passed around asking you to indicate if you want a bbq or steamboat will be void. I have unfortunately overlooked the practicality and feasibility of having a steamboat given tht

1) we can't locate an appropriate venue
2) we can't get the boats
3) and more imptly, steamboat requires preparation of fresh foods which means tht a good number of people will not be able to join us for activities in the day.

As such I seek your understanding as we now change our plans to catering a buffet for dinner, preferably at a condo's function room since I have no wish to impose on anybody by making a mess outta the house. Still in the midst of searching for a caterer tht caters to such small sizes. We will be cordially inviting all our tutors down for event, again if there are no violent objections since mrs goh and mr lee have hinted interest.

And regarding the day activity, sentosa was initially at the back of the mind since we kinda missed the class outing on vesak day but given the extreme boredom of repeated visits to the tiny island, here are some alternatives open for voting:

1) Wild Wild Wet and have a hell wet time
2) Botanic Gardens play frisbee, soccer etc and erm, dunno
3) Ice skating, only limitation is whether those who dun skate are willing to try

Will circulate a list around on Monday since our timetable doesnt allow much time for announcements. Pls try to get back to me or em if you have contacts for small scale caterers. Thanks, rather urgent, another two more weeks to go and I am genuinely tired.

heyyo!!

think our class did quite well this time round.. let's just continue to work hard and work harder for PHYSICS ok! so we won't get all Fs for our physics >.<

hope all are happy with your results, good job for those who improved/maintained their standards (must mention RUO WEI my darlinggg for having improved so much for physics! =D).. for those who didn't meet your expectations or targets, don't give up and continue working hard k!

rubbish, i think i'm just trying to encourage myself. hahahaha. i think i told the whole world this already but!! if i get full marks for physics next BT my percentage improvement would be 123%! hahaha siao it's a super far away dream, i'm aimming to improve by like 46%.. it's quite a bit but it can be done since some people can improve by 65%! think positive... i got a super big (literally) room for improvement =D

YAY i think Mrs Lim totally rocks! haha which CT would bring in a whole STACK of OCP for her students?! haha she so nice help us settle everything.. water polo match was great. my angel rockkks TOO although he didn't play. LOL PINK TRUNKS.

anyway we lost softball both to RJ. and squash to AC (urm not too sure, my AC friend sms-ed me)

OH YES ALMOST FORGOT!! tomorrow is the release of our PW results! long-awaited and no more false hopes. tmRW tmRW tmRW =D haha. hope we all do super well and fulfill our childhood dreams, all band 1! GO SHITHEADDDS!

right.. shall stop trying to get myself high >.< i have to go do carboxylic acids qn7,8,9 AGAIN cos that bloody sheet went missing. i bet it'll appear after i redo. pffft.

Charged Particles - Links to movies, simulations and applets

For Physics students
Here are various Charged Particles related links, including those demo-ed during lecture.

1. Principle of Mass Spectrometer operation
(in German... i think. Wissen=reset;
Lading=charge; snelheid=speed; massa=mass; laat spoor zien=show path; laat kracht
zien=show forces; afspeilsnelheid=applet speed)

2. Velocity Selector shockwave file
(from VJC's excellent resource page)

3. Goalfinder website
(Millikan Oil Drop Expt) Hit the preview button to see the animation

4. Goalfinder website
(Discovery of Electron) Hit the preview button to see the animation

5. Millikan Oil Drop Quicktime file

Physics or CT reps please help to circulate, or place on your e-groups or blogs or
whatever, thanks.

regards,
Mr Remedios

Food for Thought

People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies. Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you. Be honest and sincere anyway.

What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight. Create anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous. Be happy anyway. The good you do today, will often be forgotten. Do good anyway.

Give the best you have, and it will never be enough. Give your best anyway.

In the final analysis, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway.

-Mother Teresa

-.-

hello! hope everyone was more or less satisfied with math results and alright with phy results...congrats to those who did well...and work harder for those who didnt....
yups...blogging before stj tonite...hope no one will be late!

well....some things to say:

1. class cip
hmm...after seeing the 'survey' paper, i tink that majority of the people is okay with the herbs garden...so i tink we will do it? will confirm with the person in charge....and well...some of u suggested for us to teach the children stuff or play with them or something....well...the organisation has said that they dun want play games sessions cuz there are already people doing it...well...teaching them things like art/ recycling is okay, but if we really want to do that, we must have the resoures and give them something like a proposal lar...not only empty words....we cant possibly tink of one new activity each week for them...no time for us to prepare also, so i suggest we ask them if we can have a day camp for the kids during the june hols? then on that one day or two, we can go over to their centre to have fun with them? like teaching them origami, singing with them, painting and flying kites, etc......so, are you all alrite with it? if it is okay, i tink i will contact the person asap to confirm the herb garden n the camp thingy....then we will have to work out a schedule and check out the place also..lotsa work, but it will be fun if you put in your best....

2. water polo
go and support? our class nv reallie go for any supporting events as a whole before...so if possible, just go? think we will have fun..

3. gtg
another reminder (though i seriously tink that the guys cant be bothered) for GTG......we want it!!!!

4. class outing
class outing tentative on 14/4, good friday at sentosa......must go!!!

5. upcoming bdaes
huiyi and kegan....what flavour cake???

thats all...cya at glass house! BYE!!
