this wednesday is 75 day!! minyi, jiaying, zhanpei, yaqi and maybe daphne will be meeting up together in melbourne city to have vietnamese dinner together! see, we're even celebrating 75 day away from home! teehee. wanted to meet up with grandseniors also but i think our seniors find it weird.. oh well, at least we're meeting up :D

minyi and i are dying under the no. of assignments we have due this month. we just submitted one today! but other than that i think i've been having fun :) hahaha even though i'm not very socially active, like i don't go for social events or party, i am quite happy with how i've been spending my time =p

This was a speech made by Pulitzer Prize-winning author, Anna Quindlen at
the graduation ceremony of an American university where she was awarded
an Honorary PhD.

"I'm a novelist. My work is human nature. Real life is all I know. Don't Ever
confuse the two, your life and your work. You will walk out of here this
afternoon with only one thing that no one else has. There will be hundreds of
people out there with your same degree: there will be thousands of people
doing what you want to do for a living. But you will be the only person alive
who has sole custody of your life. Your particular life. Your entire life. Not just
your life at a desk, or your life on a bus, or in a car, or at the computer. Not
just the life of your mind, but the life of your heart. Not just your bank accounts
but also your soul.

People don't talk about the soul very much anymore. It's so much easier to
write a resume than to craft a spirit. But a resume is cold comfort on a winter's
night, or when you're sad, or broke, or lonely, or when you've received your
test results and they're not so good.

I am a good mother to three children. I have tried never to let my work stand in
the way of being a good parent. I no longer consider myself the centre of the
universe. I show up. I listen. I try to laugh. I am a good friend to my husband. I
have tried to make marriage vows mean what they say. I am a good friend to
my friends and they to me. Without them, there would be nothing to say to you
today, because I would be a cardboard cut out. But I call them on the phone,
and I meet them for lunch. I would be rotten, at best mediocre at my job if
those other things were not true.

You cannot be really first rate at your work if your work is all you are. So
here's what I wanted to tell you today: Get a life. A real life, not a manic pursuit
of the next promotion, the bigger pay cheque, the larger house. Do you think
you'd care so very much about those things if you blew an aneurysm one
afternoon, or found a lump in your breast?

Get a life in which you notice the smell of salt water pushing itself on a breeze
at the seaside, a life in which you stop and watch how a red-tailed hawk
circles over the water, or the way a baby scowls with concentration when she
tries to pick up a sweet with her thumb and first finger.

Get a life in which you are not alone. Find people you love, and who love you.
And remember that love is not leisure, it is work. Pick up the phone. Send an
email. Write a letter.

Get a life in which you are generous. And realize that life is the best thing
ever, and that you have no business taking it for granted. Care so deeply
about its goodness that you want to spread it around. Take money you would
have spent on beer and give it to charity. Work in a soup kitchen. Be a big
brother or sister. All of you want to do well. But if you do not do good too, then
doing well will never be enough.

It is so easy to waste our lives, our days, our hours, and our minutes. It is so
easy to take for granted the color of our kids' eyes, the way the melody in a
symphony rises and falls and disappears and rises again. It is so easy to exist
instead of to live.

I learned to live many years ago. I learned to love the journey, not the
destination. I learned that it is not a dress rehearsal, and that today is the only
guarantee you get. I learned to look at all the good in the world and try to give
some of it back because I believed in it, completely and utterly. And I tried to
do that, in part, by telling others what I had learned. By telling them this:
Consider the lilies of the field. Look at the fuzz on a baby's ear. Read in the
back yard with the sun on your face. Learn to be happy. And think of life as a
terminal illness, because if you do, you will live it with joy and passion as it
ought to be lived".

Twenty years ago, I drove a cab for a living. One early morning, when I arrived at 2:30 a.m. for a pick-up, the building was dark except for a single light in a ground floor window. Under these circumstances, many drivers would just honk once or twice, wait a minute, and then drive away.

But I had seen too many impoverished people who depended on taxis as their only means of transportation. Unless a situation smelled of danger, I always went to the door. ‘This passenger might be someone who needs my assistance,’ I reasoned to myself.

So I walked to the door and knocked. “Just a minute,” answered a frail, elderly voice. I could hear something being dragged across the floor. After a long pause, the door opened. A small woman in her 80s stood before me. She was wearing a print dress and a pillbox hat with a veil pinned on it, like somebody out of a 1940s movie.

By her side was a small nylon suitcase. The apartment looked as if no one had lived in it for years. All the furniture was covered with sheets. There were no clocks on the walls, no knickknacks or utensils on the counters. In the corner was a cardboard box filled with photos and glassware.

“Would you carry my bag out to the car?” she said. I took the suitcase to the cab, then returned to assist the woman.

She took my arm and we walked slowly toward the curb. She kept thanking me for my kindness. “It's nothing,” I told her. “I just try to treat my passengers the way I would want my mother treated.”

“Oh, you’re such a good boy,” she said. When we got in the cab, she gave me an address, and then asked, “Could you drive through downtown?”

“It’s not the shortest way,” I answered quickly.

“Oh, I don’t mind,” she said. “I’m in no hurry. I’m on my way to a hospice.”

I looked in the rear-view mirror. Her eyes were glistening. “I don’t have any family left,” she continued. “The doctor says I don’t have very long.” I quietly reached over and shut off the meter.

“What route would you like me to take?” I asked. For the next two hours, we drove through the city. She showed me the building where she had once worked as an elevator operator. We drove through the neighborhood where she and her husband had lived when they were newlyweds. She had me pull up in front of a furniture warehouse that had once been a ballroom where she had gone dancing as a girl. Sometimes she’d ask me to go slow in front of a particular building or corner, and would sit staring into the darkness, saying nothing.

As the first hint of sun was creasing the horizon, she suddenly said, “I’m tired. Let’s go now.”

We drove in silence to the address she had given me. It was a low building, like a small convalescent home, with a driveway that passed under a portico. Two orderlies came out to the cab as soon as we pulled up. They were solicitous and intent, watching her every move. They must have been expecting her. I opened the trunk and took the small suitcase to the door. The woman was already seated in a wheelchair.

“How much do I owe you?” she asked, reaching into her purse.

“Nothing,” I said.

“You have to make a living,” she answered. “There are other passengers,” I responded. Almost without thinking, I bent and gave her a hug. She held onto me tightly.

“You gave an old woman a little moment of joy,” she said. “Thank you.”

I squeezed her hand, and then walked into the dim morning light. Behind me, a door shut. It was the sound of the closing of a life.

I didn’t pick up any more passengers that shift. I drove aimlessly lost in thought. For the rest of that day, I could hardly talk. What if that woman had gotten an angry driver, or one who was impatient to end his shift? What if I had refused to take the run, or had honked once, then driven away? On a quick review, I don’t think that I have done anything more important in my life.

We’re conditioned to think that our lives revolve around great moments. But great moments often catch us unaware, beautifully wrapped in what others may consider a small one.

People may not remember exactly what you did, or what you said, but they will always remember how you made them feel.

Do something nice for a stranger this holiday season. You may get more from it than they will.

and for the fact that they're still this close.

Two guys were taking chemistry at the University of Alabama. They were so confident going into the final that two days before, they decided to go up to the University of Tennessee and party with some friends. They had a great time. However, they overslept and didn't make it back to Alabama until the morning of the exam. Rather than take the final, they found their professor afterward to explain why they missed the final. They told him that they went up to the University of Tennessee for the weekend, and had planned to come back in time to study, but that they had a flat tire on the way back, and didn't have a spare, and couldn't get help for a long time, so they were late in getting back to campus. The professor thought this over and told them they could make up the final on the following day. The two guys were relieved. They studied that night and went in the next day for the final. The professor placed them in separate rooms, and handed each of them a test booklet and told them to begin. They looked at the first problem, which was worth 5 points. It was something simple. "Cool," they thought. "This is going to be easy." They did that problem and then turned the page. Question #2 said: "Which tire?" (95 Points).

Office Codes

Dress code
It is advised that you come to work dressed according to your salary. If we see you wearing Prada Shoes and carrying a Gucci bag, we assume you are doing well financially and therefore do not need a raise. If you dress poorly, you need to learn to manage your money better, so that you may buy nicer clothes, and therefore you do not need a raise. If you dress just right, you are right where you need to be and therefore do not need a raise.

Sick Days
We will no longer accept a Doctor's statement as proof of sickness. If you are able to go to the doctor, you are able to come to work.

Personal Days
Each employee will recieve 104 personal days a year. They are called Saturday
and Sunday.

Bereavement Leave
This is no excuse for missing work. There is nothing you can do for dead friends,relatives or co-workers. Every effort should be made to have non-employees attend to the arrangements. In rare cases where employee involvement is necessary, the funeral should be scheduled in the late afternoon. We will be glad to allow you to work through your lunch hour and subsequently leave one hour early.

Toilet use
Entirely too much time is being spent in the toilet. There is now a strict three- minute time limit in the stalls. At the end of the three minutes, an alarm will sound, the toilet paper roll will retract, the stall door will open, and a picture will be taken. After your second offense, your picture will be posted on the company bulletin board under the "Chronic Offenders category". Anyone caught smiling in the picture will be sanctioned under the company's mental health policy.

Lunch Break
Skinny people get 30 minutes for lunch, as they need to eat more, so that they can look healthy. Normal size people get 15 minutes for lunch to get a balanced meal to maintain their average figure. Chubby people get 5 minutes for lunch, because that's all the time needed to drink a Slim-Fast.

thanks kailing for the effort to keep the blog alive, and thanks for the update!

i realized i haven't posted photos for MAF and yahting's departure, i promise i will do so once i get all the photos =P

well i'm still working in my dad's office because the IT system i am supposed to help my dad set up is still isn't ready. sometimes i feel quite lonely at work because my colleagues aren't my age and they don't really know how i think :/ don't really know how to express it either, so previously i was feeling quite stressed out over work.. esp. when i think my dad expects so much of me and i just don't feel like he has been supporting me.. but i understand he's just busy la (: because i'm moving in dec! probably like the 2nd weekend.. so he's busy with the renovation of my new house.

other than that i've basically just been busy with classes. i'm stil having driving lessons because the loser me made major errors like not taking safety seriously enough (in other words, recklessness) so i failed. but i'm retaking next month. i'm taking malay lessons with jaey on wednesdays, but i'm hardly learning anything because i haven't been actively revising or anything :X wasting money. hmm. taking guitar lessons also! (: at Believer Music, which is really just a music school but we learn to play christian songs! they have vocal lessons and keyboard lessons also, too bad i don't have time to join a lot of them. i'm just about to complete the beginner's class for guitar, and i'm going on to the next level :)

for those who didn't know, i accepted (kinda like again cos i accepted Christ when i was in primary school but never grew) Christ this April and yup, God has really transformed me somehow i believe :) still growing, of course.

so yeah other than lessons, i've been going to church regularly and attending a cell group. really having a good time now! the people around are great, especially my leaders in the cell group. feel super loved and protected :) like there's always someone other than God looking out for me! although a lot of times i'm just tired and grouchy and whiney, most of the other times i'm glad to see myself growing in Christ, i think i'm going to be well-prepared for Australia.

believe it or not, i have only about 15 weeks left in Singapore before i leave for Australia. i'm really excited to go! previously it was just a lot of excitement and not really.. sad or anything, as in i didn't think i was going to really miss anybody. but now i think there are some people on the list whom i'm going to miss man. haha. so i'm starting to get a bitttt sad.

okay i think that was a summary of my life for the past few months :) do keep all of us updated, you all! esp. justine, if you're reading this. where are your photos!! :P

this place is so uber dead lar.. zzz.. no one updates... well, really nothing exciting going on in your lives mehz? i thought we all agreed on updating each other through this blog? and how come no one updates?

well.. for those who dunno, i m in accountancy in NTU.. not exactly my first choice (i wanted psychology at NUS) but thats a long story.. sometimes, i still feel that i m in the wrong course.. especially when i meet lots of problems with schoolwork.. in NTU, the first yr is common is business and accountancy students.. meaning i study side by side with them.. currently (and will always be) in group b.. unlike awyong and ruowei who are in group a.. (alot of my friends are in grp a).. ya.. so i taking the more business related modules now.. have 5 modules this sem... AB103 Statistics, AB105 Organizational behavior and design, AB106 econs, AB112 marketing and AB114 communication fundamentals... yar.. i quite like the modules, but there are super a lot of projects and presentations to be made.. ya.. i have at least 10 presentations for this semester.. yar.. like almost once in 2 wks.. (i have 3 in this coming week.. sigh)... yar..

quite like my 'home' class.. that is my orientation class.. the people are nice and friendly.. but i still miss 05s75 the most.. yar.. i have 18 official hours of sch per week.. but with all the project meetings, i think i have at least 20plus hours of sch per week.. not a lot.. but well, still enough to drain me.. :x

i am in hall 9.. joined the FOC and DnD comm.. as well as the rec games comm.. ya.. (i m also in the sch's wsc curl subcomm)... yea.. not a lot of cca work yet.. but i forsee more next sem.. yeps.. so far, i m quite alrite with my hall.. though the stairs are reallie a killer.. haha.. (we are on a hilltop!).. yes...

okay.. this is an important post for those who are going back for MAF on THIS SATURDAY.. karin and i have decided that the class dinner preceding MAF celebrations in school shall be at ADAMS ROAD food centre. why? because the food is good and the location is in walking distance from school.. (and i somehow always have a secret craving for food from there).. any violent objections, please feel free to voice out..

alright.. MAF in school is going to start at around 7pm.. so karin and i have decided that those who want to have dinner together before that shall meet at 5pm at adam road.. erm.. maybe we can meet at the bus stop? (er.. i dun really know how to get there.. but i m sure someone who knows will be nice enough to post it up in the blog) yups.. :P

why 5pm? i bet most of you are thinking that it is too early.. but well, our class is never always punctual.. so, if we really want enough time to enjoy eating and strolling back to school (and some heart to heart talk as well), we need to meet at 5pm.. yes.. we will not be 'too early'.. please try to join us for the dinner.. and do let karin or i know if you are joining for dinner/going only for MAF/not going AT ALL.. yes.. please also help to spread the word around to those who dun read the blog.. aka the guys.. hello people!

long time no see, and i think this is like the, i dunno, 3rd time im blogging at the class blog? heee after reading the august 17th entry i realised our blog is suffering from the symptoms of a dying blog! (its not dying, its just on its way to dying.) ANYWAY (i didnt make sense just now, but actually im just typing more stuff here so it can act as a more established and well-planned introduction.) AHH MAF IS C.O.M.I.N.G! for the ill-informed (which i assumed to be none of you here) its actually on the 15th of sept, and i think we should have a class dinner! its been a long time since we last have tt (since minds?) and i think its a good day since MAF is all about reunion too :)

let's make a memorable maf this year! we have been celebrating MAF together as a class for the past two years and this year, i would LOVE to head back to hwachong with the same bunch of people. no doubt some of us couldnt be there (read: the US person aka justine-the-pok and guys who cant book out on sat evening which i really dont hope to see happening) but we'll make it fun and enjoyable! BE THERE OR BE SQUARE! (okay this wasnt supposed to sound threatening...again i have no idea wad im saying..zzz)

so shall we have our MAF dinner on the 15th of Sept, probably somewhere near orchard so we can take the bus back to school or maybe even the NEWTON FOOD CENTRE (but it shld be quite packed on a saturday evening)? for some of us who cant make it for the dinner, shall we see you in school then? would love to see the majority of 75 down at the parade square, doing "twist twist twist kick" or "right jerk left jerk". you know, just the classic 75 thing we always like to do. SHOW THE 75 PASSION and LIVE THE 75 SPIRIT! (why do i sound like an enthu NUS ragger?) we so rock can.

- there's cake to eat and cards to sign every month
- you've seen the largest stack of OCPs outside the GO
- first day of school and we 'forget' that no one is allowed out of school until 1 even if school has already ended
- there was a period of time when maplestory was the in-thing
- tuesdays are special days: you get to brush up on certain languages and wonder why someone turned out like that when he/she was so cute when he/she was young etc etc.
- as usual, most of the girls and just a few select guys participate in such special days
- a classroom is turned into a mini disco with the aid of a few wires cleverly connected to an ipod-nano. K.I.S.S ^^
- you know what is K.I.S.S
- tutorials are silent affairs where we all try our utmost to avoid eye-contact, except in ms tan's lesson cos there's no point.she knew all our names right from the beginning and was definitely smart enough to not wait for volunteers to answer questions.not saying that our other tutors were not smart okay!
- you know when's the class birthday(s) and actually celebrate it!
- you converted a jc classroom into a kindergarten classroom to celebrate the nation's birthday
- you've seen some of us looking like tourists during certain chemistry practicals
- you know who's really tom & jerry, not the cat and mouse of course duh! (oops sorry i posted it, no murders please, world peace :))
- girls are the only people who exist in 05s75 during mass dance sessions
- singing of hc songs is a must at school events (damn we are so enthu)
- you know where's The Warren and had (almost half) a dozen marathons there [& actually miss the place!]

haha read fel's update and i feel like updating too since it's roughly about e same thing and i haven't posted anything on this blog for eons.

i've accepted University of Melbourne's offer for vet science, so i'll be in melbourne too!hah you all could consider an outing to melbourne then visit the both of us :p like we are so da pai like that heh.

anyway, i'll be staying in uni melb's hostel cos it's near and recommended by e agent to, mix around more with all the international students, networking, networking :) my sem starts on 3rd march so wouldn't be leaving so soon...dunno whether it's good or bad news...i still have about 8 and a half months to rot here T_T will be leaving around the 19th of feb cos there's orientation on the 22nd...not confirmed yet tho cos still far...

been going for more volunteering stints lately cos i'm rather free.teaching tuition to keep my brain in non-rotting state and going back to hc quite often to train with my juniors...other than that nothing much =) hmm everyone update on your lives more too k?

HELLO. since our class blog is dying.. i shall post some updates!

i've accepted La Trobe University's offer into their nursing course (: i'm flying on 7 Feb 2oo8, which unfortunately, or fortunately, is first day of chinese new year hahah!

click here, then on Latrobe University/RMIT Bundoora to see the kinda place i'll most likely be living in :) initially i was planning to live in Le Student 8, which is really cool cos it's a hotel, just that the first 5 levels are meant to be student accommodation. hotel, so got gym la, swimming pool la, cafe la, everything you can find in a decent hotel. but compared to the kinda apartment i'm now intending live in, the apartment's right opposite school (gotta take shuttle bus from hotel to reach school), it's a little cheaper, it's newer, it's bigger, and there's free membership to this country club so if i want the facilities i still have them =P in terms of security... i don't know yet. wait till my agent's another customer updates her about it :)

rawr. i got into NUS nursing also, saying this because i didn't bear much hope of getting in. i screwed up the interview, couldn't even answer the most basic questions they asked. what a disgrace. for a while the fickle-minded me was considering if i should just ask for a refund to my deposit and stay in Singapore. after all, i'd have some company here in NUS nursing (minyi :):))! but then. i was just being silly. hehe.

yah lor, that's all. i'm still working in my dad's office, if anyone wants to know. nothing much to do yet, still. i've been here for 5 months! and still nothing much to do. got something to do with my attitude la. alright. and i've dropped all tuition assignments (except my neighbour, because he's my neighbour) so i'm quite free on weekends now. yay. anyway i'd be likely to continue working (maybe not here, but working) till my school starts.. which is HAHA MORE THAN HALF A YEAR LATER. good news or bad news you all decide la okay =P

for those who have yet to know, i got offers for nursing courses in Curtin (in Perth) and La Trobe (in Melbourne). nevermind if you've never heard of the universities, though sometimes it affects me how most people just assume i should just go for all the top well-known/prestigious schools, or if you've never heard of it then it's not good. if the course isn't good, i wouldn't be heading there ha. ok i'm getting. emo. again. yup i'll be likely to accept La Trobe if i have to live alone (i.e. not living with jaey in Perth), have yet to accept, but high probability that i'll fly next early feb. no scholarship.

pretty glad to say i'm going to live my dreams, and i hope that if you've found yours, you'd go for them too. if you haven't, keep looking, you'll find. :)

heys everyone. long time since i last blogged here can't even rmb when haha. hope everyone's doing fine =) shall update abt myself a little. 9 more hrs to book in! ok as some of you might have already know, i've joined the Navy a month ago so now i am currently training to become a NO (Naval Officer) yea. might be quite unexpected for those who still dunno yet but yar i am in the NAVY now. guess i will be leading a kinda different life from now on, and yes since i signed the contract le so i can be officially considered to be officially employed under the SAF. yea doing fine so far. hope i'll be able to complete the course sucessfully =) haha. everyone try to blog more! & keep the blog alive like what bren said during our christmas dinner. yup dats all for now. need to study for test 2mr. heck it's like taking A lvls again. just dat the books that we study is all abt navigation, communications, gunnery and stuff. haha. ok lar think most guys shld find them interesting to learn. but what the heck to study! memorise chunks of info. take 2mr's ROR test for example. (ROR=Rule of the Road) -> those who took driving le shld noe, but this version for the sea. haha.

Anyway just a lil update, while our last guy from class enlisted last week, I am into week 4 of my bslc course in sispec. Lots of running, pull ups and standard obstacle courses every shit day. Coupled with a grumpy and senile platoon commander, ain't exactly an ideal life mans. Ying Tang, tzeyi and weeloon are in sispec too but i think yingtang just got out-of-course. Yaozhen and brendan still in BMT. Junhong and sam in ocs. Swin in media security department. Clement in rsaf. Somebody enlighten me where jon and sheldon are now.

Hmmms, academic wise, offered education merit scholarship by moe. Not much reason to turn it down so probably gonna sign on the dotted line soon. Shall be reading physics and chem in Japan two years from now.

hahaha. i miss 75 la! i was looking through our photos and i realised how few class photos we actually have. hmm. we hardly took any proper big group photos last year. at least not at every event =P anyway some of the photo links @ my photoblog is dead la. i might re-upload them when i have the time.

going to blog about class day! alrite.. class day is on 7th may.. but it is a monday, so i was thinking maybe we can hold it on 5th may, a saturday.. cuz then it would be more convenient for the army guys right? any better suggestions?

this is regarding the referee report most of us asked mrs lim to write for us. mrs lim said it would exactly the same report as our testimonial, so mrs lim suggests (better word to use would be advise) us to get another teacher to write the report because it would be to our advantage if we used another teacher's report (cos the testimonial already got her signature). however since its such a short notice, she decided if u guys cant find teachers to make another reference, she would send out the referee report for us nonetheless, by this coming thursday. so its really up to us now...

so decide ok! and tell mrs lim if u found another teacher to write the report/if u decide u want mrs lim to send the report for you.

so we were thinking of planning a class girls shopping trip to hongkong somewhere in may/june.
and we'd like your feedback cos planning this sort of thing takes alot of time, and we need to see if the response is favourable to go ahead with planning.

we were thinking of a 5day sort of thing.
NOT with a package tour, cos that sucks alot of fun out of it.
cost [haha isn't this the most important? xp] would be about $1000 to $1500.
and that's INCLUDING expenditure on shopping and food (:
cos the flight and accomodation will be about $600-$700.

anyway, just a little note to inform you all that i have made a reservation at essential brew @ holland village for this saturday, 24th feb. i told the person that we would be there from around 630pm. we can stay for as long as we want, i supposed. and the place closes at 2am on saturdays. lol.

please confirm attendance asap to me. also tell me whether you will meet at mrt or at essential brew. (some of you might want to go suntec for the allied health career fair in the afternoon)

eh well, just some updates. haha! yes as i complained on the tagboard i failed my basic theory test. i was just really pissed with myself cos i found some stupid mistakes after all. and if i didn't make them i would have passed. lol. so i was meant to fail anyway and i'll learn from my mistakes :) thanks dearies who have sent your regards, and minyi i think i won't give up (yet), i just hope i don't fail all the rest of the tests. LOL. i'm going to look for some pro instructors HAHAHA. but hoh, if the student is stupid no matter how pro the instructor is, he/she will still fail. SHIT. haha. urps.

haha here to upload pictures from the dinner we had too. mass painfully needed a respite at Sakae..hehe and first time seeing clement's shaven head! got to hear very interesting army stories for the past 2 days now..quite looking forward =) snapshots..

Recruit #1 clem was really tanned. just came out from 6-day outfield camp

Recruit #2 haha sam recounted how he had the standing board jump test..and everyone did 230+ sam did 260+ and the officer told him to jump again..lol. dear sam..eat more!

civilian #1 cant wait to get his green army card..and struggling to go beyond 30 push ups.

poor mass..waited an hour for the bento set while the three other pigs tucked in. kegan quite politely asked for a feedback form after the 3rd reminder..(this time to the manager) eventually i asked, even more politely this time xp , for a tiny token of compensation, and got 10% off our dinner haha! equivalent to waiving the service charge..or ahem..the lack thereof.

i just joined amore fitness! it is a fitness club for females only. haha.. went for pilates lesson and i must say i quite like it! have been going to the gym quite regularly too. yay! hopefully i would become fitter. :)

work is busier for me now since JAE is starting soon. did a lot of movers stuff, aka shifting furniture and transporting cartons of things. wow. i see muscles building up. HAHA. and i got to work this saturday too.. haha. boo.

going to have an early reunion dinner with my mum side this sat, so wun be joining the girls for their fortnightly gatherings. hehz. either way i would be eating a lot. oh wells.

i cant wait for our american dream to come true. will it really happen? i hope so! i will save up for it! :) it would be quite cool to travel together as a class. :) whee~

fiYoyoyo... Okay whatever... I actually wanted to blog yesterday but was too tired and also cos I had to be up early for rda. It was good going back and immersing in all the songs and just craziness.

I appeared just at the right time I think- the songs part. Walked round the entire hall before deciding to just get to the middle of the whole mess of people in search of u guys. Then I saw Kegan, Karin and Felicia, facing in my direction.Yeah finally found u guys. Wah that's the greatest thing about not having a handphone. A friend just told me today that I should have got it a few months earlier.

So... Joined the circle. Then I looked around. Hi Kailing. Hi Huili. Hi Felicia. Hi Karin. (Hi XinYi- sorry u hidden behind away from my view. Only popped up when we started kicking our legs in the air.) Then, who was this shaven head guy? Look at the shirt- there's this name "kegan" printed on it. OOOhhhh... Okay.

It was all fun joining in the songs (with a mini incident apparently at the back of the hall) just as we did so many times before and will hopefully continue in future. The spirit, I guess, makes going back to school worthwhile.

I left school pretty early, after giving up at dancing and went to KAP. Around 10.20pm, I think, I was dangling my legs as I sat on the railing outside Mac and Cold Storage, waiting for my mum and staring at the bunch of bags on the floor. I was wondering just who they trusted, leaving all the bags there. Then this whole (and I mean a lot of people) group of people came and went to the bags. Then I saw this familiar guy. And another few familiar faces.

Oh boy. The junior class and the junior junior class just planted themselves like 5 metres from me. Well... Went over and talked to Lek Chia a bit and went back to my old perch before all the juniors disappeared, leaving the junior-juniors there. Hmmm... Impression of them: quite a noisy bunch. And great that so many people stayed back for after campfire gathering.

That's the night. (went off to pick my sis with my mum from ntu- that's why I got home super late.)

Okay, update-update. I'm probably the only girl still jobless. I've passed my basic theory test (BTT) for driving and my final theory test (FTT) is this month, 30th. Yes, I'm still faithfully going for RDA. What else? Oh yeah, no handphone yet and if anyone happens to have a lobang for jobs, can you just recommend to me? Thanks. :P

Hope to meet you guys again and eh... sing song? I have a particular liking for singing the hc songs together. (anyway, what's that new English song?)

hello. hahah shit im dead stuck for my ucas application. how to do within a few nights esp if i work everyday except sundays?! rahhhh im so dead. haiya at most fail lor (and not feel the guilt of not applying, as i explained to some ppl before) =x so yeahh decided to blog instead, smth which i haven done for a long time! i haven even been really online man. hahahx workworkwork. i hafta wake up at 5+am and get outta hse at like 6.20am from mon-sat! helpps.

hahah okies anw im working in this sembcorp marine subsidiary, jsl, as some admin staff i suppose. at first i was at HR dept, which was total shit. i didnt even have a proper desk to sit on and it was super foreign. and lonely. all i did was filing workers' personal particulars, certs n stuff. i had a go at using a typewriter hahah which is the only cool part of my whole stint at HR. yuppx after 2 days i was transferred to purchasing dept (called procurement or smth). hahah it was a total scare at first coz its at a more ulu part of the shipyard and waddahell, so many indians, banglas, contractors n whatnots. hahah ok wdv it just shocked me a little. but its wayyy friendlier there. and this colleague cleared his table for me to use:) so i have my own seat now hahah tho its like, ermmm right under the bosses' nose so i cant slack at all. i even wenta my colleague's 21st bday party ytd at BEDOK, even tho i only knew her for 1.5days! =) yupyups ppl there are really much friendlier n stuff n im glad. haha sorting invoices now, after which i shld be replacing this pregnant lady who's gg on maternity leave soon. hope i'll learn more then=)

well, let me be the first to update you on my life, for those who can't access my LJ. :) i've started work at my daddy's office but i'm not enjoying it.. cos it's office work. haha you know i'm such a rahrah person, how can stay in the office one. xP there hasn't been much to do there also la, that's why i've been so sian every night when i come home.

+ most of my weekday nights (should be mondays, wednesdays, fridays and saturday afternoons will be taken up by tuition from next year onwards. haha i'm not hard up for money but these days i just wanna slog. i'll go crazy. haha. i'm a workaholic. heh i'm tutoring my younger bothers also la, that's why.

but don't worry, i'm not going to give up on Nursing and/or midwifery. somehow i'll work things out. will spend my 0.75 or 1 year of break properly! :)

i'm going to learn driving! enrolled and booked my basic theory test already. heh. everyone go learn driving soon! everyone can learn even after 1st July! yepyep.

didn't catch kegan's speech last night.

and i refused to speak cos i know if i did, i'll start crying.

but i wanted to say,

thank you 75 for everything. the first 3 months with melvin, and after that often without his presence & with weeloon. we're glad weeloon's part of our 75 family.. the scandals, the nice little things he'll do, and for the 3 of us, HI140 would never be the same without this caveman.

thank you for tolerating my mood swings and angst. 75 MAY not be the coolest class (though i think it is) i've been in the whole of my school life.. and when justine said she's glad everyone's so enthu, i'm sorry i'm always not, whether is it those games or sports. thanks for respecting me during the times when i'm anti-class and the times when i isolate myself.. cos the respect means a lot to me. though i might not show it, but i did really enjoy myself in 75.. you made these 2 years in hwachong so meaningful, i'll never forget (despite my terrible memory). thanks also for putting up with my hua chi-ness also, haha. oops.

there are not a lot of people who can accept someone for who they are. sometimes i don't even think my family can accept me for who i am, and sometimes i can't even accept myself (some should know). but still, thank you all who have tried to accept me, whether or not you've succeeded, cos it's important to me.

it's nice to be up so early, i realised. cos for me no one's home so i can tear/cry without anyone seeing. and no one's online. so i can slowly type. :D

oh yah. i felt comfortable even as we sat in silence last night. and i like the way it felt. :)

thanks for these wonderful memories. i'll try to post more photos on our class blog next time instead of just my photoblog. cos more people will read this blog's archives than my photoblog's.

like brendan said, everyone please try to keep our blog active. be it monthly updates about your life, rants, announcements, or just photos.. even if it's treating it like your own blog, especially those without a personal one. things that can keep you with us, as we all grow together, even though very likely in separate ways. i don't want to make empty promises, cos a lot of times i've said "keep in contact" but i've never really put in much effort in most. i've learnt not to believe in friends forever as well. pessimistic, but think about it. it doesn't matter if our friendships don't last forever, as long as we cherish what we have.

HELLO everyone! how are your holidays? great fun, i hope!
anyway, here are the details of the class gathering. please take a look at them! (hopefully, there will not be any violent objections.. but if you have any, please tell us (justine or myself) ASAP... thanks!)

date: 22nd of Dec, 2006
time: 11am to around 10pm

place of meeting: Bishan MRT (this is to be confirmed again when the timings of the movie is out)
time of meeting: 11am (this is also to be confirmed again, but it will most likely be around this time)

location: Junction 8 and then xinyi's house (this is also to be confirmed again, but it is most likely these places)

activities:
we will be watching a movie (charlotte's web) together,
then having lunch,
then going to xinyi's house to play some games such as frisbee (if the conditions permit), pass the parcel, murderer and this sticker on the head game (from some taiwan variety show).
then, we will have dinner (calling for delivery to prevent the fuss)
followed by a dessert of tang yuan (since it is the reunion day, plus it is a class reunion thingy.. so u get the idea)..
oh, and we will have a gift exchange (details of it, please see below) during dinner too
and after all the food, we will have a proper toast (but no alcohol, only sparkling juice)
then, after dinner, we will have some more sentimental activities like writing a note to a person (see details below) and
a special charades game.
then, it will be time for speeches, and
ending with some singing if you all are in the mood for it.

gift exchange: everyone will bring a gift of not more than 8 dollars, preferably wrapped and we will tag them with numbers. then, during dinnertime, we will pick out a number from an envelope and get the gift which the number indicates. when purchasing your gift, please make sure that it is suitable for both guys and girls.. and rmb, it is only for the fun of it, so yar, dun be too worried abt not getting the correct present. it is really for the fun and the sake of having something to keep to rmb this day. (so, maybe try not to get food items.)

note writing: everyone will pick a name out of an envelope and then write a nice little note to the person. something nice or encouraging or inspiring. something that will make the person smile. try to bring your own nice pens if possible... and as for the paper, we will be providing. it will be small. (thats why it is called a NOTE.)

food: for lunch, we will have it at J8 or wherever we are watching the movie.. so please bring money for that. and for dinner, we will be calling for delivery.. most prob pizza or macs... (or anything else you all have in mind?).. so, please bring enough money for that too!

things to bring:

Yourselves, with lots of fun
Money for movie, lunch and dinner (around 30 bucks to be safe, but that is more than enough I think)
A gift, preferably wrapped up (less than 8 bucks, suitable for both girls and guys)

please take note that we WILL be having a proper class gathering on the 22nd of Dec..

we will meet at around 11 am and will hang out together for a whole day. so, keep your day free. no excuses. haha.

the activities that we have in mind now include a movie (charlotte's web), followed by hanging around someone's house, so that we can have some bonding activities, farewell speeches and food.

the exact location has yet to be confirmed, but we welcome all suggestions (on location, activities, food etc)..

think i will miss everyone.. miss all the time we spent together as a class..

trying to stay as clean as possible during war games, staying till real late on orientation just to get the lame skit done, going out for laggy class outings and supposedly shopping trips, having to make each other more worried abt O lvls results, class chalet (though i didnt go), having chinese new yr reunion, various sentosa outings, pigging out at expensive places and foodcourts, watching gp-ish movies together, mugging hard for exams together, celebrating bdaes together, buying presents for angel n mortal, going to mrs lim's house (which reminds me that ms jac yeo is supposed to invite us to her house.. haha), doing mass dances and singing hc songs together, thinking of ponning CSP (or wadeva u call it, cant rmb) but in the end nv pon, eating at SIM, many frisbee games, self entertaining PW lessons, having mixed feelings about certain issues such as class outings and stuff like that, giggling and laughing out loud during lessons, milo and vitasoy treats and many more other memories which would take me a long time to elaborate..

though it may be cliche to say that we must hold on together and stay in touch forever and stuff like that, i still would like to say that. and i want to say thank you to everyone for being part and parcel of 05s75.. we may have tears and may have been unhappy with each other's words or actions, but at the end of the day, those things that will stay in our hearts are the happy memories that we share. the smiles, the hugs and the many many photos. many years later, when you think of this 2 years, i hope that you will smile too, at all the silly yet wonderful things we did together. rejoice in the fact that we grew up together. and cherish all those beautiful moments.

we may forget. we may lost touch. time might just fade many things away. but at this moment, close your eyes and think. think about this wonderful 2 years which hav gone by perhaps too quickly. let the memories warm your heart. let yourself embrace all the feelings that will come.

hotel on prom day

hey all.

we've got 3 rooms at Marina Mandarin, rooms are available after 1400hrs on that day. You can get to Marina Mandarin via Marina Square.

You guys can come anytime after that. Just give me a call when you guys have reached so that I can pick you up; you do need the room key to go to the room levels via the elevator.

For those who are styling your hair at the hotel, do come as early as possible cos I don't think it's nice to let my hairstylist wait (she'll be there by 2.30pm), and so that we have enough time for everybody's hair to be done. Also prepare the money to pay; girls should be around $20-$25 while guys would be around $10-$15 I expect. We have to pay for her transport fees since she's going all the way there for us.

Jun Hong, Jon, Wee Loon and Yah Ting, please confirm with Kai Ling or myself if you all would be staying at the hotel that night so that we can work out the amount each of us have to pay for the rooms.

It should be $20-$30 per person depending on the number of people staying. I would only know the exact amount during check-out. I should be collecting cash on that day (unless anybody can suggest a better method), so please get some money ready.

Prom

okay for the curious ppl who have been asking about the prom performance, as well as those who have not heard about it. haha put it simply, Mark Yeow Chin and I have mostly settled on some stage performance that we will put up for prom, and will consist of the usual things lar..bad humour and self entertaining stuff maybe..shld be all fun and gay. hahaa no la..happy-gay.

but mostly it shld still be singing..yess u didnt hear wrongly haha. Um but dont expect Superstar standards =P basically we only started preparing this week following up to prom. so bring ear plugs if you must! xD hahaha okay la come on..if wont be thatttt bad. the performance shld be in the middle of the schedule..yup must support k! =)

ps: anyone know where to get nice prom clothes..starting to get desperate liao. hahaa i havent bought any. i see myself rushing to the shops on sunday =P

time: 9.30 am
meeting place: harbour front mrt
things to bring: yourself, change of clothes, towel, lotsa sunblock, money for lunch, water, etc. if you have ani frisbee or v ball or netball or wadeva kinda balls, can bring along too.
